Hi! My name is Lauren, and I\u2019m a residency-trained feline veterinarian with a passion for cats, teaching, and adventure. When I\u2019m not otherwise engaged, volunteering projects top my list as we get what we receive, and so many have helped me reach this point in my career.<\/p>\n

I live with two cats (one occasionally grumpy and the other food-obsessed, though I\u2019ll leave it to you to decide which is which), and currently spend the majority of my time in the UK. I can often be found teaching, lecturing, or planning the next outdoor adventure<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been honored to work with various veterinary organisations and groups over the years, many of them non-profit. I highly recommend looking at the work these groups are doing, including the VIN Foundation<\/a>, the American Association of Feline Practitioners<\/a>, the International Society of Feline Medicine<\/a>, and the Winn Feline Foundation<\/a>. I\u2019ve met some amazing clinicians and people in all of these groups, and cannot speak enough about the work they are doing for felines, and feline medicine, as well as the future of the profession that is caring for our cats. Ours is a difficult profession, and yet we often sit in the shadows compared to the work of our human-centric colleagues.<\/p>\n

When I\u2019m not out and about, you can find me at home with my two cats Pancake, and Tiller.<\/p>\n

They seem to sleep more than I thought<\/a> humanly possible, so certainly they must have impressive resumes that I wish I could espouse here! But as Mark Twain famously once said: \u201cIf man could be crossed with the cat, it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.” So it\u2019s potentially better that the cats keep their secrets, and I simply am allowed to exist in their world.<\/p>\n
